Bernadette Hall is an award winning New Zealand poet. She lives at Amberley Beach, 50 km north of the city of Christchurch which was shattered by a major earthquake in 2011. This event still resonates in her work. Her 9th collection of poetry The Lustre Jug (VUP), arising from time spent in Ireland on the Rathcoola Fellowship in 2007, was a finalist in the NZ Post Book Awards 2010.  Her latest collection Life & Customs (VUP) was published in 2013. In 2004 she went to Antarctica on an Artists in Antarctica award with her collaborator, the Dunedin artist, Kathryn Madill. She edited the on-line anthology Best NZ Poems 2011. She is currently working on an experimental project with the Wellington artist, Rachel  O’Neill.
