On 14 November 2013 Paul Hetherington interviewed Nigel McLoughlin, about his poetry in his office at the University of Gloucestershire. Nigel talked about various aspects of his approach to writing poems, including its connection to his childhood, his methods of making work and how he understood poetry in terms of creative practice and research.

Nigel McLoughlin is Professor of Creativity and Poetics at the University of Gloucestershire and Editor of Iota poetry journal. He is a prize-winning Northern Irish poet, editor and teacher. He has published five collections of poetry, the latest of which is, Chora: new & selected poems (Templar Poetry, 2009). His work has been recorded for The Poetry Archive, and the recording will be available early in 2014. He was awarded a UK National Teaching Fellowship in 2011.
Paul Hetherington is Head of the International Poetry Studies Institute and Associate Professor of Writing at the University of Canberra. His most recent poetry collection is Six different windows (UWA Publishing, 2013).
